We empower communities through sustainable development, education, health, and food security initiatives.
The Hafna Foundation is committed to alleviating food insecurity by supporting low-income and migrant families with backyard and small-space vegetable gardens.
By teaching families how to grow their own food, we help them gain access to fresh produce while promoting self-sufficiency, nutrition, and sustainability.
We believe everyone deserves access to healthy, affordable food. Our garden initiative equips families with tools and knowledge they need to thrive.
In partnership with Hafna Family Farms, we provide nutritious food packages to families in need, ensuring access to essential sustenance.
We conduct workshops for families, schools, and women organizations teaching both traditional and modern organic farming techniques that increase income and conserve the environment.
In partnership with Hafna Family Farms, we donate livestock to families and women organizations, enabling small income-generating businesses that improve lives.
Doctors and nurses provide vital services including prenatal care, screenings, and basic treatments to remote villages lacking access to healthcare.
We build wells, reservoirs, and sponsor city water expansion to alleviate poverty and prevent waterborne diseases in rural communities.
We sponsor children from kindergarten to college and provide shoes, uniforms, books, and other school materials to promote academic growth.
Our centers provide safe spaces for children, social development, and emergency refuge for travelers and people without homes.
Our Purpose
The Hafna Foundation was founded by a bona-fide village girl, Ms. Fatuma Humairah Mukiibi, who was fortunate to receive an education. She has spent years working with meager resources to improve the lives of children and communities in her village.
Having grown up facing similar challenges, she is determined to partner with like-minded individuals to provide sustainable, life-changing services to communities in need.
Hafna is grounded in the belief that access to healthy food, clean water, education, and healthcare is a fundamental human right.
The Hafna Foundation is committed to bridging gaps in food security, supporting sustainable farming practices, and creating opportunities for families to break the cycle of poverty. Whether through growing food in Massachusetts or building water reservoirs in Uganda, we focus on creating long-term positive impacts in the lives of those we serve.
